Ellen Lorene McKee Button, 73, daughter of George Ernest and Rebecca Dees McKee, was born Jan. 22, 1931, at Houston. She died Aug. 14, 2004, at Autumn Oaks Caring Center at Mountain Grove.She married Oscar Reed Button July 30, 1951. He died March 12, 1998.Mrs. Button spent most of her life in Kansas and Colorado. She was a dietitian at the Veterans Rest Home in Colorado before she retired. She moved back to Missouri in June.She was a member of a Southern Baptist church in Florence, Colo., before moving to Missouri.She enjoyed helping others and was a jack-of-all trades: doing mechanic work, cooking or any job that needed done. She loved gardening and being outdoors.In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ulus McKee.Surviving are one brother, George McKee of Success; and two sisters, Freda Carter of Mountain Grove and Julia Breedlove of Bucyrus.Services were Aug. 17 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Holland officiating. Burial was in the C.T. Smith Cemetery. “
