LeRoy Laurence Cody, 90, son of Frank Cody and Emma May Matthew Cody, was born Dec. 20, 1913, at St. George, Ill. He died Sept. 18, 2004, at Licking Park Manor.He married Frances Ione Noel Feb. 25, 1936. Mr. Cody had a variety of jobs including farm laborer, factory worker, timber and saw mill worker, dairy farmer and service station attendant.The Codys lived in Detroit, Mich., Mountain View, Ark., Lizton, Ind., Raymondville and Licking. They did a lot of traveling in their camper, particularly visiting family out west.Mr. Cody was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, where he served as a Eucharistic minister as long as he was able, was on the parish council and contributed to the worship with his gift of song.He loved to sing church music, dance and play cards.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; sister, Lea Louise Cooprider; and brothers, Raymond Harry Cody, Lewis Francis Cody and Wilfred “”Bill”” Felix Cody.Surviving is a sister, Melvina Morgan of Danville, Ind.Services were Sept. 22 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Licking with Father Francis Brennan officiating. Burial was in the Boone Creek Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home of Houston.Memorials may be made to Hospice of Care. “
