Maxine E. Parker, 80, daughter of Everett and Ruthene Austell, was born Jan. 6, 1924. She died Dec. 6, 2004, at Wheat Ridge, Colo.She attended Houston High School and married Norman L. Parker in 1942. They moved to Colorado in 1954.Surviving are two daughters, Patty Parker and Gloria Rice; one son, Barry Parker; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.Services were Dec. 9 at the Olinger Rose Arbor Chapel with burial in Crown Hill in Colorado. Marie SheltonCarla Marie Shelton, 60, adopted daughter of Charles and Naomi Shelton, was born May 29, 1944, in Texas County. She died Dec. 7, 2004, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield following a brief illness.She spent most of her life in Houston with her parents, caring for them until their deaths. She made her home with her brother, Allen.She enjoyed the Christmas season, Santa and the carolers visiting on Christmas Eve.Surviving is her brother, Allen.Services were Dec. 9 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Powell officiating. Burial was in the Pine Lawn Cemetery. “
