Leona Mae Kinworthy, 80, daughter of John William Edgmond and Mabel Willis Edgmond, was born Jan. 3, 1925, in Texas County. She died Dec. 27, 2005, at St. Francis Hospital in Mountain View.She married Bazel Kinworthy Dec. 31, 1946. They were later divorced.Mrs. Kinworthy worked at Andrews Manufacturing as an assembly-line worker. She later lived on her farm at Big Creek near Hartshorn. After she became ill, she lived at Houston House for a short time before moving to Mountain View Health Care.For many years, she lived near Big Creek and enjoyed the many animals which roamed near her home. She loved cats, especially her cat, Dutchess; and her dog, “”Brownie.””She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mary Cross and Molly Lorene Edgmond; and one brother, Alton Edgmond.Surviving are three sisters, June Smith and Georgia Bond of Hartshorn and Josephine Cross of Houston; one brother, Johnny Edgmond of Hartshorn and special friends, Wayne and Joyce Morton of Hartshorn.Graveside services were Dec. 28 at the Antioch Cemetery near Hartshorn with the Rev. Albert Steelman officiating under the direction of Bradford Funeral Home of Summersville.Memorials may be made to a humane society of choice. “
