Robert A. Asselin, 86, son of Wilfred E. and Clemence Gousse Asselin, was born Jan. 9, 1919, at Blois, France. He died Jan. 1, 2006, at Licking Park Manor Nursing Home at Licking.He married Virginia K. Baker Aug. 23, 1944. They had three children.Mr. Asselin was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Houston,He was preceded in death by his wife, parents; an infant brother, William Eli; and a sister, Simone.Surviving are two sons, Fred of Houston and Clifford of Needville, Texas; one daughter, Janet of Needville, Texas; a sister, Solange Radke of Crookston, Minn.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.Services are 2 o’clock today (Thursday) at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Houston with Father Robert Landewe and Father Joseph Orthel officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home. “
