Kathy Dawn Skaggs, 42, daughter of William Davis and Virginia Townley Davis, was born Dec. 25, 1964, at Cabool. She died Feb. 10, 2007, as the result of an automobile accident at Sapulpa, Okla.
She attended the Houston Schools and was baptized at a young age at the Wherry Church at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois.
She worked for the U.S. Postal Service. She and her companion of 10 years, Rob, ran a mail route in the Cabool and Houston areas.
She was an outdoors person and worked with cattle and horses on the farm. She took care of other animals which came her way, giving them a home. She loved riding horses, going on trail rides and attending sporting events involving her son.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Ricky Steven Davis.
Surviving are her children, Tyler Skaggs and Brittany Skaggs of the home; her mother of Houston; father of Woodlawn, Va.; three brothers, Bobby Birkhead of Nashville, Tenn.; Jamie A. Davis of Mooresville, N.C., and Steve Davis of Austin, Texas; two sisters, Sharon Spurgeon and Carolyn Martinez of Houston; and her companion, Rob Flowers.
Services are 10 o’clock today (Thursday) at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Howell Burkhead officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Tyler and Brittany Skaggs Education Fund at First National Bank in Houston.
