A Licking highway patrolman was recently promoted to the rank of sergeant.
Corporal Jeffery Kinder was designated the zone supervisor of Zone 7, southern Howell and Oregon counties, of the Missouri State Highway Patrol on Feb. 4.
A graduate of Licking High School, Kinder graduated with an associate of science degree in criminal justice from Columbia College. He joined the patrol in 1994 as a member of the 67th recruit class and upon graduation was assigned to Troop G, Zone 6, southern Howell and Oregon counties.
In 1996, Kinder transferred to Zone 8, Texas County. He was promoted to the rank of corporal and designated the assistant zone supervisor of Zone 2, Texas County, on Oct. 1, 2002.
Kinder is married to the former Kelly Bean, and the couple has one son, Josh, of Licking, and a daughter, Kayla.
