Michael Lee Adams, 33, son of Bob Adams and Kathy Reece, was born March 9, 1973, at Fort Leavenworth, Kan. He died Feb. 6, 2007, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
He grew up in Leavenworth, Kan., and moved to Plato in 1985. He graduated from Plato High School in 1991 and attended Rolla Vo Tech for two years. He graduated in 1993, first in his class in auto body welding and auto painting.
He was a member of the Success Baptist Church.
Over the years, he worked at three auto body shops, construction, furniture, a tree nursery and repairing and installing car stereos. He was a salesman for three years and sales manager, two.
He had started doing auto body welding and painting on cars and motorcycles.
He was engaged to Jessica Cooper of Mountain Grove with plans for an August wedding.
Surviving are his parents; sister, Marguerite Bayles of Lansing, Kan.; brother, Bob Adams of Leavenworth, Kan.; and four children, Tiffany, Mariah, Matthew and Madysen; and his stepfather, Bill Reece.
Services were Feb. 9 at the Success Baptist Church with the Rev. Ted Moore officiating. Burial was Feb. 10 in the Sunset Memorial Gardens at Leavenworth, Kan., under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
