Shelbi Moore struck out 10 batters as the Houston Lady Tigers 15-and-under softball team beat Licking 13-8 Thursday.

Hannah Pounds had a pair of hits and three RBIs as Houston improved to 3-1. Maria Gaither, Sydney Wilson and Camie Weisacosky also had two hits for the Lady Tigers.

Moore, who was 1-for-2 at the plate, allowed six hits in six innings.

“This was a good test for these ladies,” coach Craig Pounds said. “We are still improving and should have a couple key players back in their positions very soon.”

Houston hosts Birch Tree at 7:30 p.m. today (Thursday) at Chamber Field. The Lady Tigers travel to Winona on Monday.
