The Houston Lady Tigers 11-12 softball team remained undefeated with a 10-5 victory Thursday against Willow Springs.

Taylor Franklin struck out five and walked two for her first win of the season. She also went 1-for-2 with a pair of RBIs.

Sarah Robinson tripled and scored for Houston. Alexa Ichord, who walked four times, scored twice and had two steals. Kayla Herndon scored twice.

The Lady Tigers took advantage of several walks, coach Craig Pounds said.

“We’re still getting better each time we take the field. As long as that is happening, I think we’ll be alright,” Pounds said. “Our pitching has been very good so far, and the fielding gets better with every practice.”

Houston hosts Birch Tree today (Thursday) and Willow Springs 2 on Friday. The Lady Tigers travel to Willow Springs 2 on Tuesday.
