A Texas County resident is among 330 high school students selected to attend the Missouri Scholars Academy at the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Jordon Hammond of Licking High School was named.

The academy is for gifted students who attend the summer between their sophomore and junior years. Each has a chance to select a major area of study and the opportunity to attend lectures and workshops. The event occurs between June 10 and 27.
