Lucille Ruby Long Foster, 83, daughter of Dewey and Pearl McGowan Long, was born Sept. 21, 1923, at Fitzhugh, Ark. She died April 16, 2007, at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston. She was a resident at Licking Park Manor.

Mrs. Foster lived in Southgate, Mich., until her husband retired, and they relocated to Houston.

She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, crossword puzzles, gardening, cooking and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Foster; son, Melvin L. Foster; sisters, Minnie Bell Cogburn, Irene Foster and Lillie Foster; and an infant brother.

Surviving are her son, Raymond Foster of Cabool; daughter, Carolyn Terry of Jonesville, Mich.; eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Services were April 20 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wesley Wallace officiating. Burial was in the Pine Lawn Cemetery.
