Two Texas County teenagers are charged with a vandalism spree at the Houston Middle School last week that left substantial water damage.

Hannah M. Ford, 18, of Raymondville; and Christopher Johnson, 19, of Houston, are charged with second-degree burglary and property damage. Each is held on $50,000 bond. A third Houston boy, 13, was referred to juvenile authorities.

Widespread damage occurred after vandals plugged several sinks and turned the water on. Chemical contents of a fire extinguisher were discharged on a gym floor. An upstairs water fountain was pulled from the wall. A janitor found the mess when arriving for work on the last day of school. Entry was gained with a tug to a door that wasn’t locked properly, police said.

Damage is expected to total several thousand dollars after some rooms were riddled when ceilings collapsed. Damage to computer equipment also was reported.
