The Houston Lady Tigers 15-and-under softball team lost a pair of lopsided decisions to Eminence and Summersville.

On Thursday against Eminence, Houston committed eight errors in a 12-1 loss. The Lady Tigers lost to Summersville 26-7 Monday night for their third loss of the season.

Houston managed just four baserunners and struck out seven times against Eminence. Shelbi Moore gave up 12 hits and struck out three in the loss.

“We were very intimidated by a fast, athletic and well coached team,” coach Craig Pounds said. “We played below our potential, and Eminence took advantage of that.”

The Lady Tigers didn’t fair much better in a muddy game against Summersville. Mariah Gaither led Houston with a pair of hits and two RBIs. Paula Chernowsky also had two hits and scored twice.

“Mud is not our friend,” Pounds said. “You have to be able to take what the field gives you. It’s now always going to be dry, and we need to be able to adjust to the conditions Summersville really played well under the weather conditions.

The Lady Tigers travel to Mountain View today (Thursday) and Eminence on Friday. They return home Monday against Cabool.
