Plans continue to progress for the fifth annual Houston Lions Club fireworks show and entertainment, which is later this month at the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce Fairgrounds on North U.S. 63.
The June 29 extravaganza is one of the biggest Fourth of July celebrations in southwest Missouri. Fireworks are released and are choreographed to music. Onlookers can enjoy the show on the grounds or listen on a special radio frequency. Food also is sold on the grounds, and profits are used toward next year’s show. A carnival midway also is planned again this year.
