Tom Whitworth, 89, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Whitworth, was born June 30, 1917, at Boerne, Texas. He died June 18, 2007, at Hartville Care Center.
He married Cleora Miller Aug. 19, 1937, at Junction, Texas.
Mr. Whitworth was a rancher at Harper, Texas. In 1966, the family moved to Plato and began farming there. He worked at the Licking Livestock Auction for 12 years.
He loved fiddle music and calf roping and attended the Plato Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nov. 1, 2005; two brothers, Homer and Clifton; two sisters, Frances Whetstone and Irene Whetstone; and an infant child at birth.
Surviving are one son, Wayne Whitworth of Plato; one daughter, Sharon Ichord of Plato; one brother, Lloyd Whitworth of Boerne, Texs; two sisters, Louis Epperson of Boerne, Texas, and Dorothy Ainsworth of Idaho; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services are 10 o’clock today (Thursday) at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Edwin Carter officiating. Burial is in the Embree Cemetery.
