The Foster Grandparent Program is looking for 60-year-old or older volunteers in Texas County to work with children at schools, daycares and youth centers in the community.
The program pairs seniors with children who need a special person in their lives. Benefits for participants include: a nutritious meal each day; annual physical and accident/liability insurance; orientation prior to volunteering and monthly in-service training; and fellowship through activities.
Volunteers would devote 20 hours per week to the program. An organizer said 15 volunteers are being sought. There is a non-taxable stipend, reimbursement for travel, holiday pay, and funeral, sick and annual leave.
For more information or to volunteer, call toll-free 866-380-4420.
