Fundamentals Stressed at Lady Tigers' Basketball Camps

Houston girls’ basketball coach Brent Kell stressed the fundamentals of dribbling, passing, shooting and teamwork last week at his annual Lady Tigers’ basketball camps.

About 45 players in the second through 12th grades participated in the camp, which concluded Monday.

Katelyn Kell was named the high school camper of the week. Sarah Garrett received the award for the 6-8 grade, and Jaden Beasley was the elementary winner.

Kendra Welch won the free throw, hot shot and layup high school competitions. Holly Thomas was the 3-point champion. Brittany McCloud received the hustle award. Kelsey Adey was named most improved.

Haley Kelley was the most improved middle school camper, and Kaitlyn Neal received the hustle award. Other winners were: Kenzie Scheets (layups); Sadie Ashworth (hot shot); and Alissa Bowlin (free throws).

Elementary winners were: Jaydin Ramsey and Elisa Williamson (layups); Ramsey and Sarah Kelley (obstacle course); and Ramsey and Kelly (shooting).
