The Houston Lions Club will launch a drive to aid the Texas County Food Pantry, which has lost some sources of obtaining food items, the organization announced Monday.
Kelly Arnold, a Lions Club member, said donations will be accepted until August.
The Lions Club will place food collection boxes in area businesses and churches for those interested in dropping off non-perishable items. Merchants will accept the bright yellow boxes with the Lions emblem for display, and Lions Club members will pick them up.
A list of locations – when established – will appear in the Herald.
Anyone wanting a box can contact Arnold at 417-967-4196.
