The preliminary hearing for one of four women accused of aiding suspected killer Neldon Neal was delayed last week at the request of her attorney.

Kathy J. McComas, 52, faces a hindering prosecution charge for her role in aiding Neal during his 62-day run from authorities following the March 13 shooting death of his common law wife, Judy Lewis. McComas’ hearing was moved to Aug. 8.

Three other women – Erica D. Moore, 31, Mary E. Thomas, 38; and Evelyn Lansdown, 32 – entered not guilty pleas last month to similar hindering prosecution charges and were ordered back to court Sept. 4. All are free on bond.

Neal is scheduled to appear Aug. 2 for his preliminary hearing.
