Pictured with the first place demolition trophy is Brenda Senter, Houston chamber director; J.J. Romines, co-director of the Texas County Demolition Derby; and Caleb Schincke from Diamond Art Engraving, who designed the smashed derby cars for this years trophies. The derby will be Friday, Aug. 10, and Saturday, Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. at the chamber fairgrounds on North U.S. 63.

The Texas County Fair-Old Settlers Reunion opens this evening for a four-night run that culminates with one of the largest demolition derbies in the region.

Entertainment, grandstand attractions, a carnival midway and livestock shows are planned. Numerous exhibits -ranging from flowers to horticulture – are also planned. Several vendor booths are situated in the community building at the fairgrounds.
