Missouri State University-West Plains volleyball freshman Viki Castleman may have to redshirt this season due to a hip injury.
Castleman, who along with fellow Houston graduates Trezha and Lexie Castleman is playing her first year with the Lady Grizzlies, has not played any of West Plains’ first eight matches.
“I’m not sure if she will be able to play all year,” Lady Grizzly Head Coach Trish Kissiar-Knight said. “We may redshirt her.”
West Plains, ranked second in the nation in the the National Junior College Athletic Association preseason poll, is 7-1 after Wednesday night’s 30-18, 30-17, 30-28 victory at State Fair Community College in Sedalia.
The Lady Grizzlies’ first home match is Thursday, Sept. 13, against Jefferson College. Match time is 6 p.m. at the West Plains Civic Center arena.
