A Houston man was convicted Tuesday by a Texas County jury on a charge of production of a controlled substance, marijuana.

Lennie Gale, 50, was arrested in July 2003 at his residence at 6121 Highway 17 after a state marijuana eradication team found marijuana growing. The jury deliberated about 25 minutes before reaching its decision. Testimony began the previous day.

Texas County Prosecutor Mike Anderson said Gale’s current bond was revoked, and a new one set at $40,000. Should he post bail, Gale was ordered to be under house arrest.

Sentencing is set for Nov. 6. Gale was in the county jail Tuesday afternoon.
