A 33-year-old Rockford, Ill., woman was arrested Sunday after authorities said she attempted to smuggle illegal drugs into the South Central Correctional Center at Licking.
Licking police said they were called to the West Highway 32 institution after authorities there were suspicious. A search of the woman’s vehicle led to the discovery of marijuana and false identification cards. During an interview, the woman admitted delivering a controlled substance to an inmate and providing prison officials with a false i.d. to gain admittance to the prison.
A report will be sent to the county prosecutor seeking charges of possession of a controlled substance, delivery of a controlled substance and false impersonation, said Police Chief Scott Lindsey.
