Three persons face charges of animal negligence in two separate incidents, Houston police said.
Officers charged Amanda L. Schivitz, 19, 719A Augusta, and James D. Wakenight, 26, 719A Augusta, with animal neglect on July 27 after two dogs were left behind at the residence. The two had moved from the property..
Police also charged Justin A. Holden, 19, of Bucyrus, with animal neglect on Aug. 3. A dog was left inside a parked vehicle at the TCMH parking lot. A passer-by had given the dog some water, and the animal was panting heavily when officers arrived.
In other matters, police:
-Arrested Kerry D. Brooks, 19, of 8445 Mineral Dr., on a Texas County warrant charging her with stealing less than $500. Brooks posted $258.50 in a cash bond on July 30.
-Cited Victor L. Sellars, 70, of Licking, with failing to yield the right-of-way following an accident Aug. 1 at Second and Main streets. Police said Sellars pulled from a stop sign on northbound Second Street at East Main Street and struck a car operated by Jaime A. Martinez, 20, of Mountain Grove.
-Arrested Clayton W. Grogan, 20, of 960 Shelton Drive, #7, of Cabool, a City of Thayer warrant charging him with possession of liquor by a minor on Aug. 2.
-Cited Jaymes D. Wilson, 20, of 619 Sommerfield, with failing to exhibit an insurance card and following too closely after a Aug. 1 accident. Wilson struck in the rear an SUV operated by Don E. Gustin, 29, of Bucyrus.
-Tested a Raymondville woman, Patricia A. Sawyer, 37, for consumption of alcohol after she was found walking on Oak Hill Drive with two teenagers. Sawyer was already on probation and was not to consume alcohol. Her blood alcohol level was measured at .224, nearly four times the legal limit.
-Cited Alice M. Turner, 35, of 1208 Thomasville Road, with stealing under $500 following a shoplifting accident Aug. 2 at Houston Wal-Mart. Police said clothing items and fingernail polish worth $30 were taken. A 14-year-old girl was referred to juvenile authorities.
-Investigated a theft at the Annie Washburn residence, 411 Oak St.. Among the items missing was a leather jacket.
-Charged Dylan M. Antencio, 18, of Raymondville, with stealing under $500. According to a police report, Antencio, a former employee of Houston Wal-Mart, admitted taking cash nine times for a total of $200. Another former employee, Lisa A. Dobelbower, 23, of Licking, admitted taking $90.
-Cited Zackary J. Kroll, 22, of 16433 Forrest Dr., on Aug. 4 with failing to register a motor vehicle.
