The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will host blood drives at area high schools in October.

CBCO will collect blood from 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Summersville High School. The following day, CBCO will be at Plato High School from 1-6 p.m.

It takes more than 275 donations every day to meet the needs of patients in 36 area hospitals, including Texas County Memorial Hospital.

Proof of identification is required for first-time donors. Eligibility requirements include weighing at least 110 pounds and being in general good health. For more information, visit www.cbco.org or call 800-280-5337.
