A brief power outage Saturday for some Intercounty Electric Cooperative customers came after a 23-year-old man climbed a three-phase electric pole.
Power at both a Dunn and Cabool substation was cut after confusion over the man’s location following a call to Wri-Tex 911.
The situation began at about 3 p.m. An Intercounty official said power to the substations was immediately cut for the safety of the man and law enforcement.
With the use of bucket truck, the man was assisted off the pole. The Texas County Sheriff’s Department took the man into custody. There were no injuries. Power was restored at 3:51 p.m.
