The Tyrone Fire Department will receive an $18,226 grant from a U.S. Department of Homeland Security program. The funds are earmarked for operations and safety.
U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Emerson, R-Cape Girardeau, said many fire departments operate on a shoestring budget and have equipment and training needs.
