Houston police are investigating the theft of a vehicle off a business parking lot that was later recovered at a river access point.
Officers said the vehicle was swiped off the Hardee’s parking lot on Sept. 21. The vehicle belonged to Judith A. Witte, 59, of 10014 Prescott Road. The following day the car was found abandoned at the Sand Shoals river access on the Big Piney River.
Officers said there was no damage, but a rear driver-side tire was flat. The investigation is continuing.
In other matters, police:
-Cited Juan A. Espinoza, 22, of 816A Augusta, with DWI, failure to stop for a sign and operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license on Sept. 19.
-Charged Harley D. Gerholdt, 20, of Springfield, with possession of up to 35 grams of marijuana and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia on Sept. 14. He posted $1,000 bond.
-Charged Stephanie E. Lewis, 16, of 18027 Highway B, with following too closely in a Sept. 20 accident that occurred at U.S. 63 and First Street. She struck a Jeep operated by Farrell D. Christeson, 42, of 800 Dooley.
-Arrested Teresa A. Adkins, 36, of Spruce Apartments, No. 2, on a probation revocation on Sept. 21.
-Cited Gary E. Shriver, 49, of 340 Fredrick, on Sept. 13 with failing to exhibit an insurance identification card
