Mountain Grove racked up 446 rushing yards and got touchdowns from four different players in a 37-21 victory Friday night against Ava.

The Panthers (4-0, 3-0 SCA) had 542 yards of offense and led 27-7 at the half.

Aaron Charleson scored on a 48-yard pass from Casey White, then added a 2-yard run to put Mountain Grove ahead 14-0 in the first quarter. Evan Williams and Greg Kutz had second-quarter rushing scores to put the Panthers comfortably in front.

Quarterback Johnathan Batcheller had a rushing and passing touchdown for Ava (2-2, 2-1 SCA).

Cabool 20, Salem 6: C.R. Polston scored twice and Ryan Smith added a 53-yard score as the Bulldogs remained undefeated.

The Tigers (0-4) tied the game at 6-all on Jacob Brook’s 69-yard touchdown in the third quarter. But Cabool (4-0) retook the lead on Polston’s second 3-yard score of the game, and put Salem away on Smith’s fourth-quarter touchdown run.

Thayer 41, Liberty 18: The Bobcats scored three times in the second quarter to build a 25-6 halftime lead and cruised to an easy victory.

Jacob Eckman passed for 211 yards and two scores for Thayer (4-0). He also rushed for another score.

Luke Yarber was 13-of-20 passing for 105 yards and a score for Mtn. View (1-3). He also rushed for 56 yards and a touchdown.

Willow Springs 25, Springfield Catholic 14: The Bears intercepted five passes – four in their one territory and one in the end zone – as they rallied past the Irish.

After falling behind 6-0, Willow Springs (2-2) answered on the next possession by going the length of the field in four plays. Josh Kraus’ 5-yard score put the Bears in front 7-6.

Willow Springs got the ball to start the second half and drove 60 yards in 10 plays, finished off with a Justin Johnson plunge to take a 13-6 lead.
