Revenue from sales taxes collected in Texas County increased during the latest monthly distribution, reports the Missouri Department of Revenue.

The tally from a half-cent sales tax was $74,490, which is a jump of $4,074 from the same period a year ago. For the first three quarters of the year, $723,840 has been collected. That’s an increase of $37,600 from a year ago.

Merchants also collect two half-cent sales tax earmarked for debt retirement on the county justice center and general operations totaled about $78,460 each. Year-to-date about $723,840 has been generated.

The reports are considered a good report of economic activity.
