Texas County school districts shared $200,338 in fines collected by the court system, records show. The amount is a significant jump from last year when $135,612 was generated.

The bulk of the collections -$195,131 – came from the fines collected in the county. Another $5,207 came from interest. The collection period was Oct. 1, 2006 – Sept. 30, 2007.

Here are the school districts situated in the county and the amount of fine money received:

Houston, $49,356; Summersville, $16,432; Mountain Grove, $9,259; Cabool, $37,312; Plato, $22,334; Success, $6,868; Raymondville, $8,080; Licking, $40,801; Mountain View-Birch Tree, $1,170; and Willow Springs, $3,510.

The distribution is based on the student census.
