Four persons are accused of loading up a vehicle with liquor and cigarettes from a Houston business early Tuesday.
The spree was short lived, authorities said. A passser-by at C & B Country Liquor on Highway B east of Houston before daybreak notified authorities of the suspicious activity. One person was arrested inside the store, and two others nearby after a search of the area by authorities from two agencies. A fourth person was arrested later. The loot – liquor and cigarettes – was recovered. Later in the day, officers had the merchandise lined up outside the sheriff’s department attempting to complete an inventory.
The business had recently closed after the death of its owner.
