A 17-year-old Houston boy is charged with the assault of 63-year-old grandmother, Houston police said.

Officers charged Donald A. Newell, 17, of 424 S. Third St., with incident on Sept. 25. Police were called to #5 Hamrick Terrace, where Newell was suspected of striking his grandmother, Lois Hall.

According to a report, Hall lost her balance and fell against a chair. She did not require medical treatment.

In other matters, police:

-Arrested Bryon G. Pettijohn, 27, of 1026 W. Highway 17, on Sept. 28 on charges of violating four conditions of his probation.

-Cited Rachelle C. Lamb, 22, of Mountain View, with following too closely on Sept. 27 following an accident that occurred on South U.S. 63. Police said Lamb’s vehicle struck another one in the rear driven by Linda F. McMinn, 43, of Cabool.

The impact caused the McMinn vehicle to cross a parking lot at Texas County Technical Institute and strike a precast concrete retaining wall. Lamb told police she became distracted while listening to the radio.

-Were called Sept. 28 to an apartment at 816A Augusta, where broken windows were reported. The tenant is Luis Briceno.

-Cited Lerenda F. Birky, 50, of Cabool, with improper vehicle registration (no plates) on Sept. 25.

-Charged Juan Angel Epinsoza-Perez, 816A Augusta, with DWI, failure to stop at sign and operating a motor vehicle with no valid license on Sept. 19.
