Texas County’s jobless rate jumped four-tenths of a percentage point to 6.2 percent in August, reports the Missouri Department of Economic Development.
The average in south-central Missouri was 6 percent. Area counties and their rates: Douglas, 5.7; Howell, 4.7; Shannon, 6.3; and Wright, 5.8.
