Persons wanting to learn more about Missouri’s Sunshine Law will have the opportunity on Oct. 11.
Those interested can attend either a 2 or 6:30 p.m. session on Thursday, Oct. 11, in the first-floor classroom of University Extension at 833 Boonville in Springfield.
James Klahr, an assistant attorney general with the Jefferson City office, will conduct the program. The 90-minute session will also include a time for questions and answers. The law is the public’s means of learning about the operation of public bodies. That includes the proper procedure for releasing information on employment, legal and land acquisition decisions.
The program is sponsored by the attorney general’s office, University Extension and the southwest Missouri chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.
