Missouri Department of Transportation crews will perform chip and seal operations on shoulders of U.S. 63 through Houston beginning Monday.
The operation will be performed on the shoulders just south of Highways B and F, to just north of the new Pizza Hut entrance. Work hours are scheduled to begin at 10 p.m.
MoDOT performs chip-seal resurfacing on roads that are in generally fair to better condition. The benefits include crack sealing, increased skid resistance and correction of minor rutting, which extends the life of the pavement in a cost effective way.
Motorists should plan ahead and allow extra time due to a one-lane restriction. A 35 mph speed limit will be posted.
