Patrick Jesse accounted for four touchdowns as Cabool clinched its first district title in more than a decade.
The Bulldogs gained 357 on the grounds as they thumped Willow Springs 42-6. The victory gave Cabool its first district championship since 1995.
Jesse scored on runs of 63, 3 and 5 yards for Cabool (6-3, 2-2 SCA). C.R. Polston and Ryan Smith each had rushing touchdowns as the Bulldogs led 28-6 at the half.
Jesse also had a 49-yard fourth-quarter touchdown pass to Nate Stoutenborough for Cabool, which out-gained Willow Springs (3-6, 1-4 SCA) 415-115.
Adam LeBeau scored the Bears’ lone points on a 2-yard pass from Justin Johnson.
Rogersville 27, Ava 21: Noah Besant rushed for three touchdowns in Rogersville’s district victory Friday night.
Rogersville dominated the second half, keeping Ava’s quick-strike offense off the field for more than 18 of the second half’s 24 minutes. Rogersville ran the ball on 61 of its 80 plays and had 22 first downs to Ava’s 15.
Besant gained 154 yards on 39 carries for Rogersville, and quarterback Colton Dill had 21 carries for 115 yards.
Ava’s Jonathan Batcheller had 124 rushing yards for the Bears (6-3). Batcheller, who has passed for 1,299 yards this season, threw only his second interception of the year Friday night.
The Bears can still win the Class 3 District 9 championship when they host Salem Friday.
Salem 27, Buffalo 6: The Tigers won their fifth consecutive game since an 0-4 start as they continue to surge after a slow start to the season.
Salem (5-4) had 332 rushing yards on 59 carries and attempted only three passes.
Mtn. Grove 56, Pleasant Hope 6: The Panthers scored 35 first-quarter points and racked up 593 yards of total offense in a district rout of Pleasant Hope.
Aaron Charlson ran for scores of 36 and 39 yards and caught a 63-yard pass for a score for undefeated and third-ranked Mountain Grove (9-0).
