A 42-year-old Tyrone man whose body was discovered by a neighbor Saturday afternoon may have been killed three days earlier, Texas County Sheriff Carl Watson said.
Watson said authorities are investigating the death of Ricky Luebbert as a homicide. Luebbert’s body was found by a neighbor who was checking on him after he failed to show up for a personal work project.
There were multiple bullet holes in the front window of Luebbert’s trailer about one mile west of Tyrone on Highway H. Watson believes the shots were fired from the highway.
An autopsy Monday in Springfield revealed Luebbert may have been killed Wednesday night, Watson said.
Luebbert failed to report to work Thursday and Friday at Wood Pro Cabinetry in Cabool. Watson said calls were made to Luebbert’s home by his employer, but the authorities were not alerted.
Officers were called to the scene around 4 p.m. Saturday.
