The Houston Area Chamber of Commerce announced the parade marshals for the Dec. 8 Christmas event.
Bill and Brenda Bates were selected. Bates retired at the end of the month as city administrator for Houston. He held the post for about seven years. His wife, Brenda, is the director for the Texas County Library system.
The 2 p.m. parade occurs in the downtown business district. Those registering by Nov. 30 are eligible for about $900 in prize money.
