Small businesses in Texas County are eligible for low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration through the federal disaster declaration.
Qualifying businesses in Texas and 29 other Missouri counties are eligible for up to $1.5 million at a 4 percent interest rate.
“Drought conditions affect more than just our agricultural operations – they also hit ag-related business very hard,” said U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Emerson. “These small businesses in our rural communities can now apply for disaster loans from SBA to offset the economic losses caused by the extremely difficult dry conditions. Any small business in these counties directly hurt by the drought should be aware of this opportunity and take advantage of it.”
