The Houston Area Chamber of Commerce will award three shopping sprees during the holiday season.
Each year the chamber sponsors a shopping spree for the holiday shoppers. Chamber business members provide a box in their store for customers to sign up for prizes given each week from the participating merchants.
Drawings for one $300 and two $100 sprees are each Monday beginning Monday. Names will be drawn from those placed in the boxes the previous week with all four weeks combined for the grand drawing. The grand drawing will be the cash awards to be spent in the participating shopping spree businesses.
Bicycles for children 4 years and under are donated by the Forbes’ Pharmacy and are on display at the store in downtown Houston. The drawings for those will also be during the grand drawing on Dec. 19.
“We have very positive and generous merchants and a great chamber who are participating in this event,” said Brenda Senter, chamber director. “Our merchants believe in Houston and supporting our economy and want to reward their customers for shopping in Houston. Every time we spend our dollars here, we help our schools, our community and even our county.”
Names of winners will be published weekly in the Messenger section of the Houston Herald and all names of those over 12 go into the final drawing. Names will also be listed on the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce web page.
The businesses participating in the shopping spree are: CHC Do it Center-Houston, Crowley’s HomeWorks, Downtown Barber, Forbes’ Pharmacy, Grand Avenue Mall, Grand Slam Subs, Infinite Entertainment, Miller’s Grill, Moose Coffee and Gifts, Neal’s Sporting Goods, RJ’s Knifeworks, Ashley Analysis, Brown Shoe Store and French Hen Gifts and Antiques, D & L Florist, Dorothy’s Fashions, Elmore’s Men and Boys Wear, Hardee’s of Houston, Houston Dollar Shoppe, Houston Florist, JAZ, McDonald’s of Houston and Rootin’ Tootin’ Alpacas.
