Efforts by the Animal Shelter of Texas County to build temporary quarters before winter arrives received a boost at a Houston concert recently.
Proceeds from the concert – about $1,200 – went to the shelter, which has a building project under way on East Highway 17.
The evening concert began with Shawn Conway opening for “Tagged Horizons,” which won last summer’s Big Country Idol contest at the county fair. The group is comprised of five local high school students.
The recent concert was sponsored by KUNQ.
