Holly Thomas scored 23 points off the bench and Kendra Welch added 17 as the Houston Lady Tigers earned their first victory Monday night by cruising past Eminence 66-19.

Houston (1-1) led 13-1 after one quarter and outscored the second-year program in every quarter.

Thomas, who was held without a field goal in the season opener, did not start for disciplinary reasons. She scored all of her points in two quarters of play.

Welch hit 3-pointers on Houston’s first two possessions and scored the game’s first eight points as the Lady Tigers took control from the get-go. Stephanie Dukes, Kate Harper, Tina Maddox and Sarah Pierce all scored four points each for Houston, which got points from 11 different players.
