The fifth annual Thanksgiving dinner for persons finding themselves alone this holiday will be at the Houston United Methodist Church at noon, Thursday, Nov. 22.
The traditional dinner is sponsored by the Coffee Shop Sunday School class. There is no charge for the meal, and no donations are taken. Take-out meals are not provided, and persons must reserve a place by calling the church office (417-967-2372) by Nov. 19.
Class members realized that local agencies provided meals to area families needing assistance, but that there were still persons finding themselves alone at this time of year due to a recent move, death or other circumstances.
