The Raymondville Volunteer Fire Department was one of six departments statewide to receive funding last week through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Raymondville’s grant of $37,506 will help pay for operations and safety through personal protective and other equipment, wellness and fitness and modifications to fire stations and facilities.
“I am thankful for the men and women of our state who risk their own safety to help their fellow Missourians,” Gov. Matt Blunt said. “These grants will help ensure that Missouri’s firefighters have the tools they need to effectively and efficiently perform their duties to protect Missouri families.”
Other departments that received part of the $363,865 awarded through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant were: Gainesville, Carthage Marshall, Gideon and Cuba.
