The ring of bells at Salvation Army kettles in Texas County will soon be heard.
Organizers hope the annual drive, which starts Nov. 23, will raise about $15,000 for food, healthcare, transportation, lodging and utilities for those in need.
The Texas County Food Pantry conducts the drive annually. Bell ringers are needed beginning Friday, Nov. 23. Churches and businesses are invited to participate. Organizers said it also is an opportunity for those assisted by the food pantry in the past to offer a helping hand.
Red kettles can be found at Houston Wal-Mart Supercenter and Town and Country Supermarket at Licking and Cabool.
Coordinating the effort for Licking is Dora Meier. Volunteers can call her at 573-674-3411. Katherine Rotz is overseeing the Cabool area. She can be contacted by calling the food pantry at 417-967-4484. The Houston area is coordinated by the pantry.
