Texas County’s unemployment rate stood at 6.7 percent in October, reports the Missouri Department of Economic Development. That’s up three-tenths of a percentage points from a year ago.
Area counties and their jobless rates: Douglas, 6.8; Howell, 5.0; Shannon, 7.0; and Wright, 6.9. In the south-central Missouri region, the average was 6.3 percent.
