Detta Margaret Moore, 73, daughter of Roy and Vida Butler Eckart, was born Aug. 1, 1934, at Albuquerque, N.M. She died Dec. 16, 2007, at Houston House Nursing Center.

Mrs. Moore grew up in Albuquerque, where she graduated from high school.

She served a tour of duty in the Navy during the ’50s.

She met and married Jimmie D. Moore in May 1954.

Later in life, she went back to school and became an LPN.

She loved camping and fishing, singing in the church choir, working with the Bethlehem Walk and other activities at the Christview Christian Church in Tulsa, Okla. She often surprised her family with creative homemade Christmas presents. A favorite was turning her mother’s old pillow slips into rag dolls. She enjoyed sewing and playing on the computer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one son at birth, Johnny Moore.

Surviving are three sons, Jimmie D. Moore Jr. of Broken Arrow, Okla., Jerrold Moore of Walkerton, Ind., and Jeff Moore of Houston; one daughter, Jaketta Alderman of Broken Arrow, Okla.; one sister, Ruth Dance of Avon Park, Fla.; and 11 grandchildren.

Memorial services are 11 o’clock Saturday at Christview Christian Church in Tulsa, Okla., with Jeff Moore officiating.

Local arrangements were under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
