Progress continues at the Texas County Justice Center, which is under construction at Spruce Street and Grand Avenue in Houston. Mild temperatures allowed for concrete pourings last Friday.
The $10 million project on the 12-acre tract is slated for completion in summer 2008. Septagon Construction of Sedalia is the manager.
The front of the Texas County Justice Center faces east toward Grand Avenue. The project is made possible through the passage of two half-cent sales taxes that were okayed by voters in November 2005. In addition to judicial quarters, the county prosecutor, public administrator, circuit clerk, juvenile office and coroner will occupy space at the justice center. A 72-bed jail also is included.
